Meet our team.

Lauren Mair, 4-year-old Educational Leader

Lauren marks her eleventh year as Educational Leader/4-year-old Teacher at Tecoma Preschool in 2019.

Since completing her Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies at the University of Melbourne in 2004, Lauren has been working full-time in the field.

“What a pleasure it is working with such dedicated and supportive educators to deliver a program that enlightens, inspires and encourages children to explore and expand their understanding of this big and beautiful world. Each and every child and their family bring something special to this kinder community and I am most appreciative that I can be part of it.”

Jo Cleeman, 4-year-old Educator

Jo has worked at the kinder since May 2007. She has worked extensively with the 4-year-old groups and was excited to also take on the role of leading the 3-year-old group in 2015. She is now working with the 4-year-olds again in 2019!

Jo completed her Certificate III in Children’s Services in 2013 and her Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care in 2014.

Previously, Jo was involved with the kinder as a parent, participating on the preschool committee in many roles including fundraising, secretary and president.

“As an Educator I am very lucky to watch your children grow & develop each year. Not a day goes by without one of the children making me laugh & smile. Their honesty keeps us grounded & they always continue to surprise me with their views on what’s happening around them.”

Noeleen Koller, 4-year-old Educator

Noeleen has been working as an assistant at Tecoma Preschool since 2001 and completed her Certificate III in Children’s Services in 2002.

“Working with young children is such a pleasure. Every day is a new experience and being witness to their discoveries and development throughout the year is truly rewarding. Best question I’ve ever been asked is “in the olden days was everything you could see in black and white?”

Sami Biggs, 3-year-old Educator

Sami is the latest addition to the Tecoma Preschool Education team, starting her position this year to teach the 3-year-olds. Sami has a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

“I am so excited to be working at Tecoma Preschool. Being part of a team that is so supportive and caring makes work so enjoyable. I look forward to making memories with the children and their families during their time at Tecoma and hope to make a positive impact on the young children’s start of education.”

Denise Wotherspoon, 3 & 4-year-old Educator

Denise started as the 3-year-old Assistant in 2012 and completed her Certificate III in Children’s Services in 2013.

Previously, Denise worked at Tecoma Preschool as an assistant for children that have additional needs. Before that, Denise worked at Sassafras Preschool and Arrabri Kindergarten.

‘Children have so much to offer. I believe it is very important to listen to children and I often think I learn as much from them as they do from me.’
